NYSC should be restructured to improve Public private partnership- Governor Adeleke

With the state of Nigeria economy, the  Osun state Governor  Ademola Adeleke has pleaded with The National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) to reform the Service to effect an institutionalized Public Private Partnership in the management of the service.

The Governor implied that the present structure and model of the NYSC is unsustainable, due to the prevailing economy of the nation.

He stated this  during the visit of the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, at the state capital.

He said, “The present structure appears unsustainable considering the state of the national economy. We need to restructure the service to reduce the burden of financing on the public sector”.

Adeleke further said that the NYSC is a gemstone for the Nigerian state, while pleading for a reform of the service to expand the private sector either through review of the enabling act or a federal instrument of reform.

The  NYSC D.G, Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, disclosed. that he was in Osun to review the operation of the service and to present a specific request for the attention of the state government.
