A Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Kingsley Moghalu, has emphasised the need for leadership action, inclusion to address Nigeria challenges.
Moghalu stated this while reacting to the reinstatement of the old anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.” on his X account on Thursday, saying introducing the old anthem will not change the situation of the country.
“Changing the national anthem in Nigeria will not solve any of Nigeria’s problems, not least the challenge of building a nation,” Moghalu stated on Thursday via X.
“Needed: leadership Action, not words, fairness, not prejudice, inclusion, not exclusion, a nation-spirit, not tribal-spirit, justice, not injustice,” he said.
Marking his first year in office, Tinubu signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law. The bill seeks to reinstate the old anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”
