Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has hailed the peaceful succession to the throne of the Olubadan, describing the emergence of Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland as a source of pride for the people.
Speaking at the coronation and presentation of the Staff of Office on Friday, Makinde said the process leading to Oba Ladoja’s installation was now “well established and free from contestation,” adding that the new reign would bring peace, unity, and progress to Ibadanland and Oyo State.
In his first royal address, Oba Ladoja urged President Bola Tinubu to approve the creation of Ibadan State before 2027, stressing that it remains the collective demand of his people.
“My people sent me a message to Mr President. Mr President, they said the creation of Ibadan State is their priority,” the monarch declared.
