“I could sense that this relationship is deep and am rest assured that you will take the approach of building on the achievement of previous administrations.
“As a researcher, I believe that you have to prove that what you are doing, nobody else had done it. Do not awaste time doing what people had done but build upon what others had done in the past. That is the direction and strategy we are talking about.
“We appreciate the role technology play in our lives today, though pervasive. It is still a specialized area, you can simplify it, but we should not take it for granted that there are a lot of complexity towards it.
“In telling our story, the person that can best tell the story will tell it from the position of knowledge and not ignorance, people telling our story should not be ignorant”, he said.
According to the EVC, the commission is
working on the issue of linking NIN to Sim cards so as to improve the economy.
“Today, if we have a way to tie everybody to an identity, it will be good. There are other sectors that have similar identities like banks, FIRS, FRSC bringing it all together to NIN gives us a foundation ,whereby a lot of digital services can be built and there is security aspect as well because we know our challenges’, he said.
The NITRA President, Blessing Olaifa commended the achievements of the former EVC/CEO of NCC, Danbatta who took broadband penetration from 19% to over 40%.
