The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has begun the disbursement of April 2025 upkeep payments to thousands of student beneficiaries across the country even as it battles minor hitches from a recent system upgrade.
While the bulk of payments have been processed without issue, NELFUND acknowledged that a small number of students may encounter temporary delays. The Fund attributes this to ongoing improvements in its payment and application system, designed to boost security and streamline future disbursements.
Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Strategic Communications at NELFUND, reassured students that efforts are in high gear to iron out the glitches. “NELFUND is working closely with relevant stakeholders to resolve these issues promptly and ensure that all eligible students receive their entitlements without further delay,” she stated.
She emphasized that the upgrade is part of a broader push toward operational efficiency and transparency, echoing the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We appreciate the patience and cooperation of all stakeholders as we continue to improve service delivery for the benefit of Nigerian students,” Oluwatuyi added.
With this development, NELFUND reiterates its commitment to removing financial barriers to education and improving service delivery for Nigeria’s student population.
