Nigeria is set to host the 32nd Afreximbank Annual Meetings (AAM2025) from June 23 to 28, 2025, in Abuja. This significant event will bring together over 6,000 delegates, including heads of state, policymakers, business leaders, and experts from Africa and beyond, to discuss strategies for accelerating the continent’s economic growth and integration.
The 2025 Afreximbank Annual Meetings, themed “Building the Future of Africa on Decades of Resilience,” aim to address critical issues such as trade financing, economic development, and investment opportunities across Africa.
The event will feature high-level policy discussions, presentations, and networking sessions designed to foster collaboration and drive integration through trade and investments.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in a statement on his official X account, made the announcement
“From June 25 to 28, Abuja will proudly host the 2025 Afreximbank Annual Meetings, a gathering of Africa’s global leaders and most determined partners, under the theme “Building the Future of Africa on Decades of Resilience.”
He emphasized Nigeria’s readiness to lead and its commitment to Africa’s prosperity. He stated, “Africa has what it takes to be great; our people, our vast resources, and a spirit that refuses to quit. Nigeria is proud to lead that charge as we move from reform to recovery.” He stated .
Highlighting the significance of the event, the Minister of Finance Wale Edun emphasized that it is a platform for economic growth
“Nigeria is honoured to host the 2025 Afreximbank Annual Meetings, which will serve as a critical platform to drive discussions on trade financing, economic growth, and investment opportunities across Africa.”
He further stressed that “This event is a testament to our commitment to strengthening Africa’s financial sector and positioning Nigeria as a hub for economic transformation.”
Professor Benedict Oramah, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afreximbank, praised Nigeria’s longstanding support for the institution. “Nigeria’s unwavering support to Afreximbank has been the primary driver of the Bank’s strong continental impact,” he said.
He further noted that Nigeria has attracted cumulative disbursements of about US$52 billion in addition to being the first beneficiary of several flagship transformative projects being executed by the Bank such as the African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE), African Quality Assurance Centre (AQAC), Afreximbank African Trade Centre (AATC), among others.
