The Chairman of the Abuja Scrap, Environmental Waste and Scavengers Association Muntari Mohammed, has described the recently concluded FCT Area Council election as free and fair .
He commended the effort of the FCT Minister Barrister Nyesom Wike, whose aggressive grassroots campaign paid off.
According to Muntari, the elections in the six area councils were devoid of thuggery,violence and civil disturbances.
“This is the first time in history of any area council election in FCT where an opposition candidate stepped down for the ruling party.
” All this we believe were made possible by the leadership qualities of the FCT helmsman.Our association on its part mobilised for the success of the APC candidates whom we believe were qualified.”
Muntari implored the FCT Minister to engage the association so as to sustain its role in empowering jobless Youths through their activities.
” As earlier explained in our previous press releases, we are a bonafide association legally registered and open for FCTA collaboration for proper utilization of environmental waste.
” We call for unity amongst FCT residents and assure Minister Wike of our support always.”
