The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has introduced a digital solution, the NIMC Pre-Enrolment Portal, to enhance efficiency and improve user experience in the National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment process.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, Kayode Adegoke.
According to the statement, the Pre-Enrolment Portal allows applicants, both within Nigeria and in the Diaspora, to conveniently capture and submit their biodata online before visiting enrolment centres for biometric capture.
The Commission noted that the initiative is part of NIMC’s broader strategy to reduce congestion and waiting time at enrolment centres across the country.
It added that the introduction of the portal reflects the unwavering commitment of the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, to strengthening institutional performance through technology-driven solutions.
This, the Commission said, aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which prioritises efficient public service delivery, digital transformation, and inclusive national development.
Key benefits of the NIMC Pre-Enrolment Portal include simplified enrolment through the online capture and management of NIN biodata before biometric enrolment, reduced congestion and waiting time at enrolment centres through appointment scheduling, improved data accuracy as applicants input their information directly, secure and confidential handling of user data through enhanced security measures, and seamless online upload of required supporting documents.
The statement further revealed that the portal would improve overall user experience and service efficiency, while increasing enrolment accuracy and operational effectiveness.
“NIMC encourages all prospective NIN applicants to utilise the Pre-Enrolment Portal to enjoy a smoother, faster, and more efficient enrolment process.”
“This initiative further underscores the Commission’s commitment to building and sustaining a reliable digital identity ecosystem in support of national development,” the statement added.
