In a rare moment of praise for law enforcement, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command is basking in the spotlight after successfully securing the historic attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice in Eko hotel ground organized by Hilda Baci without a single incident of theft.
FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, expressed pride in the seamless security coordination during the high-profile event, which drew a massive crowd of food lovers, tourists, and onlookers.
“No one stole even a grain of rice from the largest pot of jollof. That’s real security,” SP Adeh said proudly, describing the outcome as a reflection of the police’s commitment to public safety.
The event, which aimed to break the Guinness World Record, became a celebration not just of Nigerian culinary excellence but of order, discipline, and effective crowd control.
Spectators noted how rare such an incident-free event could be, especially with large quantities of food and a festive crowd. Many took to social media to commend the police and volunteers for ensuring that the environment remained peaceful and respectful.
“Honestly, I came expecting chaos but what I saw was impressive. The organizers and the police did a fantastic job,” said Joy Ibekwe, a local resident who attended the event.
As Guinness World Records reviews the attempt, the FCT Police say the real win is not just breaking a record but setting a new standard for event security in Nigeria.
