The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has demonstrated its commitment to disaster prevention and public safety by collaborating with the Federal Road Safety Commission to regulate traffic flow and ensure crowd control, by swiftly responding to a petroleum tanker accident at Guaraka along Kaduna Road.
The NSCDC spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi, disclosed that the emergency response team was led by Deputy Commandant General of Operations, Philip Ayuba.
He emphasized the Corps’ commitment to disaster prevention and public safety.
” We acted on intelligence received about the fallen tanker.
We deployed our tactical Operational and disaster team to surround the area and prevent emergencies.
He noted that the Corps’ swift action ensured the area was secured, preventing fuel scooping that could have led to a catastrophic explosion .
Officials confirmed that the situation was brought under control, preventing any further damage or escalation.
The NSCDC reassured the public of adequate security and safety around the terrain, maintaining a high level of vigilance and preparedness to ensure the safety and security of lives and property of citizens.
