An Open Letter to the Inspector General of Police
*Force Headquarters, Area 11, Abuja*
Dear Sir,
We, the undersigned, are writing to express our concern about the recent happenings in the Nigeria Police Force that are denting the good image of the force. We urge you to take immediate action to address these issues and restore the integrity of the police.
*Recent Developments*
– In Osun State, a suspect arrested for alleged serial killing claimed to be working for a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Sanya Ominrin, despite earlier denying any knowledge of him.
– In Rivers State, police officers tear-gassed the governor, HE Sim Fubara, without any disciplinary action taken.
– In Kano State, the police protected only the APC-backed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero during the emirship tussle, leaving Emir Sanusi Muhammad II with only vigilantes and hunters.
*Request for Action*
We request that you:
Transfer all officers and men with questionable character and compromise. Transfer high-level cases to either the Force CID or the IGP office.
.Restructure all SIB, CID, and specialized intelligence arms of the Nigeria Police Force.
We believe that these actions will help to restore the integrity of the police and ensure that the force remains neutral and effective in maintaining internal security.
*Signed*
