WODGOH empowers 600 girls on sexual education

A non governmental organization, Women of Dignity & Girls of Honour Empowerment Initiative (WODGOH), has sensitized Nigeria student on the danger of early sex.

Through a project the “DOES Campaign”, the organization sensitized about 600 girl students on the Definition of Early Sex, Causes of early sex, How to avoid early sex and benefits of abstinence for a girl child in the 1st week of July 2024.

The DOES Campaign is a project that addresses Nigerian girl students on the dangers of early sexual initiation, activity and engagement.

While addressing the girls during the campaign, the Executive Director of Women of Dignity & Girls of Honour Empowerment Initiative (WODGOH), Mrs Adekunle Racheal, said early sex has physical, emotional, and psychological consequences on girls.

She said: “Early sex refers to sexual activity that occurs at a young age, often during adolescence or teenage years. It can also refer to sexual activity that occurs earlier than expected or earlier than considered healthy or appropriate.

“Early sex have physical, emotional, and psychological consequences, including increased risk of sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancy”.
