Victor Osimhen is reportedly on the verge of joining Turkish giants Galatasaray, marking a potential end to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding his football career.
Recall that the Nigerian striker has had a strained relationship with his current club, Napoli, following a social media controversy last season.
In a recent reports, Osimhen has agreed to a loan move to Galatasaray. However, he is seeking revisions to his contract with Napoli. Specifically, he wants his release clause reduced from €130 million to €75 million and a break clause allowing him to leave in January if top European clubs express interest.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano explained Osimhen’s requests, saying, “Victor Osimhen has accepted to join Galatasaray on loan. He’s asking for the release clause at Napoli to be lowered to €75 million. He also wants a January exit option if major clubs make an offer.”
Galatasaray has reportedly prepared a private jet to bring the player to Turkey as soon as the deal is finalized. The Turkish club is expected to cover Osimhen’s salary of €9-10 million until the end of the season. However, the loan agreement with Napoli does not include an option or obligation to buy.
