The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has officially resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.
In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the PDP, Sagba Abogunde of Ward 2, Ede, the Governor cited the ongoing crisis in the national leadership of the party as the reason for his resignation.
He expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunities it provided him, including his elections as Senator representing Osun West and as Governor of Osun State.
The letter read: “Due to the current crisis in the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect.
“I sincerely thank the People’s Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a Senator (representing Osun West) and as Governor of Osun State under the People’s Democratic Party.”
The letter was received and acknowledged by Saka Kamoludeen Alamu, Ward Party Chairman of Sagba/Abogunde Ward 2, Ede North LGA.
