The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has urged parents to be strict with their children and avoid permitting them to do as they please, cautioning that leniency could jeopardize their future.
Adeboye made this remark during the church’s monthly Thanksgiving Service in Lagos, which also marked his 83rd birthday.
He stressed the importance of training children in the way of the Lord, as they are the key to a greater tomorrow while reminding children to obey and honor their parents, as this is crucial for living a long life.
The General Overseer also emphasized the importance of having a good ending in life, stating that it’s more vital than the beginning. He made this statement during the church’s monthly Thanksgiving Service in Lagos, which coincided with his 83rd birthday.
Adeboye explained that life is a three-phased journey – past, present, and future highlighting the significance of planning for a better tomorrow. He emphasized that the decisions we make today will impact our future, using the example of becoming a medical doctor by choosing to attend medical school .
To illustrate his point, Adeboye referenced the story of Abraham, noting how God blessed him and his descendants, making them great.
For a greater future, Adeboye highlighted the principles of sowing, diligence, and humility .He encouraged his audience to learn to sow, be diligent, and humble themselves before God. Ultimately, Adeboye emphasized that a glorious future is only guaranteed for those in Christ, affirming that “you have a glorious future if Christ lives in you” .
