The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Livingspring Chapel, in collaboration with the Ilera Fagba Eye Care Foundation, held a free eye screening exercise inside the church premises to commemorate World Sight Day 2026.
The outreach, which took place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, was organized as part of activities to mark this year’s World Sight Day.
The Ilera Fagba Foundation is a Nigerian non-governmental organization founded by Samson Oyenekan.
The Foundation focuses on community health, elder care and free eye care outreach programmes for senior citizens aged 50 and above.
The medical team for the outreach comprised Dr. Raymond Kingsley and Mrs. Ololade Ogunleye.
The programme was graced by the Zonal Pastor of More Than Conqueror Zone, Pastor Samuel Lawal, while the Parish Pastor is Pastor Augustine Aghighor.
No fewer than 47 persons benefited from the screening exercise, with 25 free eye glasses distributed to participants. Others were referred for further treatment in specialised eye facilities.
The outreach focused mainly on the elderly aged 50 and above, although persons from other age groups were also attended to.
According to the organizers, the programme is part of Vision 2032, which incorporates Church Social Responsibility (CSR) as a strategy for winning souls into the Kingdom of Christ.
Residents from far and near trooped out to benefit from the free health intervention.
