Seyi Makinde has formally entered the race for Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election, announcing his ambition under the platform of the Allied People’s Movement (APM).

The Oyo State governor made the declaration on Thursday at Mapo Hall, where he also launched the Reset Nigeria Movement, a political initiative aimed at mobilising support across the country ahead of the next general election.

As part of the rollout, Makinde unveiled an official campaign website designed to coordinate policy engagement, volunteer registration and grassroots participation from supporters within Nigeria and the diaspora.

Addressing party members, supporters and stakeholders at the event, the governor said the country requires purposeful leadership that can restore confidence in governance, strengthen democratic institutions and improve the lives of citizens.

“Nigeria cannot continue with politics as usual. This is the time to reset our nation, rebuild public trust, strengthen institutions, and create a system that works for all Nigerians,” he said.
