Major General Oluyinka Soyele, Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma, has reaffirmed the readiness of troops to confront the Lakurawa terrorist group along the Nigeria-Niger border
During an operational visit to the tactical headquarters of the DHQ Special Operations Brigade in Sokoto State on January 10, 2025,
General Soyele emphasized the importance of commitment from the troops.
“Nigeria’s territorial integrity is non-negotiable,” General Soyele stressed, urging troops to remain vigilant and determined in their mission to dismantle the influence of the criminal group.
The Theatre Commander also appealed to local communities to cooperate with security forces, highlighting the crucial role of local support in the success of military operations. “A strong partnership between the troops and the community can enhance operational effectiveness and foster a united front against terrorism,” he argued.
General Soyele emphasized that intelligence sharing and community cooperation are fundamental in addressing the challenges posed by insurgency and ensuring long-term peace. With clear communication and collaborative efforts, the mission aims to restore security, facilitate a stable environment, and promote community development and prosperity.
