Tinubu Appoints 774 National Health Fellows to Oversee PHCs Nationwide

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has hired 774 National Health Fellows to oversee Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in each of the country’s 774 local government areas.

Tinubu declared the fellows ‘ employment during the programme’s launch at the State House in Abuja.

He commended the courageous initiative and the thorough selection process.

He said: “This programme is a transformative initiative that underscores my administration’s commitment to harnessing the immense potential of Nigeria’s greatest asset its young people.

“With over 60 percent of Nigerians under 30, we boast of one of the most energetic, resourceful, and dynamic youth populations globally. This presents unparalleled opportunities to drive innovation, economic prosperity, and social transformation.

The hiring of these fellows, chosen from each local council, was based on the recommendation of Prof. Ali Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare.

Prof. Pate praised their selection as the top candidates from a pool of 360,000 applicants, highlighting the process’s merit-based approach.
