President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the killing of about 30 residents in Naridon Village, Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, describing the attack as a barbaric act of terror against innocent civilians.
The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, claimed the lives of men, women and children, while several houses were also set ablaze.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu vowed that those responsible for the attack would be brought to justice.
The President said the assault was an unprovoked attack on defenceless citizens and warned that those seeking to undermine the peace and security achieved in Kaduna State in recent times would not go unpunished.
Tinubu also extended his condolences to the families of the victims, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the state government and the people of Kaduna over the tragedy.
He assured the state government and affected communities of the Federal Government’s support, reiterating his administration’s commitment to addressing security challenges across the country.
The President disclosed that he had directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations in the affected communities to track down the perpetrators and restore normalcy.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police, and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly and restore normalcy to the region,” he said.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s security architecture, equipping security personnel and dismantling criminal networks threatening national peace.
He also urged residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible intelligence to support ongoing efforts to prevent further attacks.
