In a move that has sparked discussions across Lagos, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, formerly of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has unveiled a new ministry, The Family Fellowship.
The inaugural service, held on Sunday at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, drew a crowd of enthusiastic worshippers who celebrated the launch with vibrant praise and worship.
The suspension of Iluyomade and his wife, Pastor Siju, in 2024 followed the backlash over a celebratory event hosted shortly after the tragic passing of Herbert Wigwe, a respected church member and philanthropist. The couple was reassigned to RCCG’s headquarters in Ebute Metta during the suspension period.
He wrote, “The Family Fellowship invites you specially. Join us tomorrow at the Civic Centre for a special time in the Lord’s presence. Promises to be a great experience.”
Sources close to the pastor suggest that The Family Fellowship aims to focus on building a spiritually nourishing and supportive community, drawing lessons from past challenges.
The decision to establish a separate ministry signals a new chapter for the Iluyomades, who appear determined to continue their spiritual mission. Despite the controversy that led to their departure from RCCG, the couple has received significant support from followers eager to embrace this fresh start.
