The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the closure of its National Secretariat in Abuja to honor the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who passed away on July 13, 2025, in London at the age of 82.
In a statement released on July 14, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, CON, stated that the closure, directed by Acting National Chairman Hon. Bukar Dalori, will last from Monday, July 14, to Thursday, July 17, 2025.
“We urge party faithful to use this period of national mourning for quiet reflection and prayers for the repose of the soul of our departed leader,” Morka said.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his tribute, described Buhari as “a patriot, a soldier, a statesman” who served Nigeria with unwavering dedication.
The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) also expressed deep sorrow over Buhari’s death, with Chairman and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, stating that Nigeria has lost one of its most emblematic leaders.
Buhari’s legacy includes his anti-corruption stance, efforts to combat insecurity, and commitment to national unity. His passing marks the end of an era in Nigerian politics.
The APC’s decision to close its secretariat reflects the party’s respect and mourning for a leader who significantly shaped Nigeria’s political landscape.
